Dr. Suprabhat Mukherjee is a scientist working in the field of Biochemistry and Immunology of Infectious and Inflammatory diseases. His major research interest has been on the typical immunopathology and biochemistry of tropical infectious disease (lymphatic filariasis) & inflammatory diseases (ulcerative colitis and human colorectal cancer). Presently he is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Animal Science at Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol, India. He is the recipient of several awards including the Asok Ghosh Memorial Award (2023), KNU-Best Faculty Award (Science), INSA visiting scientist, EMBO fellowship, National Post-Doctoral Fellowship, D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral fellowship, Young Scientist award for best oral presentation, Zydus-Award for best poster presentation, ICMR-travel grants (2014 & 2018), and DST-SERB ITS (2022) awards. He has received research grants from UGC, Govt. of India and DST-SERB, Govt. of India. Dr. Mukherjee is currently enlisted in the list of TOP-2% global scientist prepared by Stanford University and Elsevier. His current area of specialization is the targeted stimulation of host immunity through development of anti-filarial, anti-colitis and anti-cancer drugs from natural sources and evaluation of their mode of action at molecular level. He has research experience of more than 10 years. He has published more than 79 research papers in reputed international journals, 28 book chapters, 1 book and presented more than 69 papers in several conferences in India and abroad. Currently, he is mentoring four doctoral students and several post-graduate students and summer interns.
